8/08/2001 - Double Down Daze
Our down day was not even remotely a down day. Some of us helped Straight Flush move out of his apartment, some of us cleaned equipment, some of us cleaned the Intruder, some of us rehearsed, some of us picked up or dropped off equipment, most of us cleaned ourselves off.
It was a busy day and our heads were totally zapped. I for one was having a difficult time communicating verbally. I'm fairly certain I wasn't alone. After an evening pow-wow, an executive decision was made to take the next day off as well. There were several light days in a row coming up, and the idea of an actual day off followed by normal days of shooting sounded much more appealling than no day off and light days of shooting.
So that's exactly what happened. Day two was much better. Sleeping, eating, and yet more personal hygiene. It was a glorious torpor for the crew. Still, no one wanted to get back to work. We needed a good four or five days off after the desert, but who'd have known? Oh well. We've got a schedule to keep, so...
