Today was a nice day. Clear and hot, but with a cool breeze to pass the time more quickly. For the most part, things went smoothly today. Got our first few scenes with no trouble, everyone was in good spirits, we had some horses to deal with, but they were well trained. We had a bit of trouble with a broken wagon wheel and a skittish horse, but all in all no worries. Torpedo and I got to wear dresses to be stand-ins for some girls, so that was pretty exciting for everyone.
It was a beautiful night. The stars out there are breathtaking. The whole crew headed in to the hot springs after dark and proceeded to make the tanks completely disgusting, rank and filthy. We did enjoy ourselves though. The hot water and clean air are immeasureably soothing after a dry and dirty day in the sun. Several of us decided to walk back to camp afterwards. We assumed the walk would be about twenty minutes, but distances are deceiving out there, and our twenty minute walk ended up taking nearly an hour. Great walk though. It's surreal on those flats under a blue moonlit sky.
A local rancher came through for us once again and let us charge our batteries at his place overnight, so we were set. Ready for our second and last day at location two.
