7/29/2001 - Boy Oh Boy
Westendardo
Our last day in the rolling sage. The weather got progressively worse today. Rain wind and misery. The cool was pleasant, but otherwise the weather was a drag. We shot until it was totally absurd to keep shooting. We didn't want to stop, but we had to. Hank the Donkey was in rare form today, and when we had brief windows of opportunity to shoot something, he always made a spartan effort to ruin our sound. Hell, the sound was terrible at this point. The weekend had arrived, along with the dirtbikes, curious onlookers driving back and forth, airplanes, coyotes, you name it, we got it.
Aside from that issue, our camp was drenched by the time we wrapped up production. The tents had rainflys and all our stuff was stowed safely under cover, but things were a chaotic mess. Not a pleasant situation.
Luckily at this point we were finished with almost all of the extraneous people who had been around for the last few days. So they could leave and that was a few less people we needed to worry about keeping dry. Most of us headed into town for dinner while a select few remained at camp to re-organize and prepare for the long wet night ahead of us. Dinner was great, and I spent the night at my Dad's which was nice for me... We thought we'd be done today, but there were just a few more shots to pick up first thing in the morning. As long as the elements permit, that is.
Photo Addendum - A weary Barfly and the trusty SR3 await the next shot.
