| 7/27/2001 - The Intruder Strikes Back |

Day two at our plains location. Today the Intruder really gleamed the cube. Nothing was working, so Bronze was gonna take it into town to hopefully charge up and set straight. Problem was, the steps were extended, and we couldn't pull them back in. Naturally as soon as Bronze pulled away on the narrow dirt road we were calling home, the stairs hit a stump and blammo, ruined steps. Another score for the Intruder. So we were without our largest source of shade, our largest source of water, and our only indoor restroom. Bummer.
And we had even more people on set to deal with today. And it was hotter. And we were undersupplied. There was no mercy on us. None.
Shrugging it all off, we went about our business and finished the rest of the action sequence we started yesterday. It all went off great, more shining accolades on Ghost Doug for his awesome choreography. Heck, despite the miserable circumstances, everyone was really stepping up and doing a hell of a good job, actors and crew alike. Tonight after we wrapped we all went to the nearby reservoir, yes the one we intended yesterday. It was fantastic. Like an oasis. Trees and birds and green grass... I think I can safely speak for everyone in saying that those swims at the end of the day really saved us. Cleansed of filth, purified of heat and calmed of mind. The massive load of fresh grilled salmon my pa provided for dinner probably helped as well... Oh, and the Intruder got fixed. Well, sort of.
Photo Addendum - Everyone tries to relax in and out of our limited amount of shade...
