The triumphant return to one of our first locations in Starker Forests. We started with a scene on the edge of the Mary's River (I know, more water), which is a small and lazy river in the hills. Just looking at the place you wouldn't think much of it, but it was such a phenomenal pain in the caboose to navigate around that spot... It was deceptively muddy, all the rocks were precariously loose and shaky, there were logs in all the wrong places... Things took a bit longer to do as a result, which was obnoxious. No real problem, just annoying.
Torpedo and I were hunting for crawdads on the sidelines. I mean, there's plenty of down time for a couple of fringe crew members like us, so it's no big deal... Besides, it was fun... it's not like we were slacking off... Anyways, Torpedo caught a good one, and went to show it to our director. It proceeded to pinch 'ol Hawk as soon as he reached for it. Several exclamations of pain and surprise later, the little red guy got tossed back in the river, which is probably lucky for him.
After a location shift, we finished up an earlier scene that we couldn't complete the other day because we ran out of light. Once again, we were hard pressed to make it work with the shifting light we had, but we got it. More importantly though, we finally got a good outtake of Barfly screwing up one of his lines, which pretty much never happens. Spirits were high at the end of the day, and we got home at a decent hour. Can't complain about that.
