7/15/2001 - Higher and Higher
Back to Cascadia today to another one of our perennially favorite locations. This time we were up the river a little ways at good 'ol High Rock. High Rock is a thirty-five foot chunk of stone jutting up next to a deep, clear section of the Santiam River. It's a great place to swim and snorkel, and you can always find underaged local yokels drinking beer and smoking cigarettes... That was actually one of our biggest fears about today. We were shooting on a Sunday, and chances were that there would be a big crowd at our location. Luckily for us, it was overcast and no one stopped in until late afternoon. The people who arrived were all excited and interested in what was going on, and were more than willing to drink their beer and smoke their smokes quietly and out of our shots. We were most thankful for their compliance.
I spent more time in the water than anyone else today, but that was just fine with me. Started to lose some body temperature by the end, but I'm pretty used to it. Once again, we got our shots with little or no trouble. Even had a couple of our trusty bandits show up and threaten our hero...
The big excitement however, was the surprise gift to everyone of our Westender t-shirts. Black with the King's dragon sigil on the chest in red, our individual code-name in red on the sleeve, and "Westender, M.O.B Productions" on the back. They look pretty damn snazzy, and most of us have been wearing them every day since we got them. Hopefully I can get a shot or two up in these here journals for all to see...
