7/13/2001 - Going Down River
It was a particularly exciting day for me today. We were shooting along a river and I got to float through some rapids over and over... and over and over and...
I love it. I love that stuff. Stunts and physical self-sacrifice to get the shot... That's what it's all about. My left foot, my legs, my left buttock and my neck might disagree with me, but they'll get over it. We had a bit of a blunder today as a result of equipment incompatibility. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have the problem solved and all systems will be go. We still got a full day of shooting in, it just wasn't precisely what we had planned. Tomorrow was a somewhat open day, either to supplement today, or the scenes at our next location, and it looks like we'll be using it to finish today's work. Not a problem, but it could have been a good opportunity to get even farther ahead.
Still on schedule and having a good time. Much more excitement in store for tomorrow. With luck we can wrap it up at an early hour and have a relaxing evening. Yeah, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.
Sigh.
I love this stuff. If only there were more hours in the day.
Photo Addendum - Short-Fuze, Hawk and Muskrat ready the camera in the splashbag.
