| 7/07/2001 - Medieval Times |

On this fine weekend day we were joined by about 20 muddied and bloodied extras to pick up some shots for a big scene that was mostly done last Fall. A few bits of the scene appear in the trailer; the scene with all the bedraggled soldiers in the purple tunics, remember?
It's an odd business dealing with extras on a shoot like this where no one is getting paid. It was great though, because most of the guys had their own elaborate medieval gear that really made them look authentic and individual. Saves us a lot of time and money on costumes as well... There were five horses on board and galloping about, all quite well behaved and cooperative despite being surrounded by strange-looking dirty people with large weapons and fluttering banners.
On the down side, our fearless director left his shot list on top of his car before leaving this morning. Needless to say, it wasn't there when he arrived at the location. Thankfully, there was another copy of the list, it just wasn't as well organized, streamlined and ready for action. However it gave the rest of us a good reason to crack wise about our visionary leader. And what else can a devoted crew really ask for?
Oh, and for good measure, I should point out that the opinions expressed in this journal are not the opinions of M.O.B Productions (they might be, but you'll never know), but solely the opinions of myself, Jefferson Brassfield, media assassin. The acid spewn forth on these pages is mine and mine alone.
That said, the highlight of the day for me was getting to play a dead soldier with his head bashed in. It was sweet. The day went great, to be sure. Still on schedule after two days. It's a damn miracle...
Cheers!
