So an update is a bit overdue. Forgive me. It's been a busy summer
Lemmesee here... Seattle. Seattle went great. We all had a blast at the festival, and the screenings went over really well. Brock got 5th place in the directing category out of 180 directors. 3 of the directors who beat him out are distributed, industry experienced directors with multi-million dollar films under their belts. Good company.
The festival was a really fantastic experience, and I want to thank everyone who came out for our screenings, and everyone who we met that were involved with the festival itself, and helped us along the way. Made lots of new friends and saw some great movies. I can't wait for the next one.
The Portland screening was absolutely fantastic. A completely wonderful and utterly surreal evening. I don't think I've seen that many people I know and like in one place since my high school graduation. Damn near everyone from the production crew came out from all over the country, our friends, our families, our contemporaries, sooooo many people! I barely got to talk to half the folks I wanted to. Sometimes them's the breaks, I reckon.
Since then, the Westender team has been contemplating getting a 35MM film print of the movie, fielding the occasional distribution offer, and pursuing exhibition in more festival venues. We're all trying to put our heads together to get some future projects organized as well, but that's proving a bit difficult with everything else going on at the moment. Things are good. We're excited about the future.
Cheers,
Jefferson
